Amazon, Barnes, or just Robeth??

I hope to finally have Craft Classics ready for release within a couple months. The final version will be coil bound, which will be more practical for a book of this type. I’ve been toying with the idea of a attempting a wider distribution, such as offering it at Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Yet , I keep coming back to marketing it directly from our website, as opposed to selling copies from those other sites. Not sure yet. First, we need to get the final edition completed!

Paper or plastic? Go paper.

I am heading to the grocery store, and I need to remember to opt for the paper over plastic. Plastic bags are convenient, easy to carry and make bringing the groceries into the house quicker, with fewer trips. Unfortunately, plastic bags are horrible for our environment.

An added benefit to paper over plastic, brown paper bags are a great craft supply, especially if you are interested in crafting paper bag altered books.

Plus, a few extra trips back and forth from the car, to bring in the groceries, is good for the waistline.

Digital Crafting, a clarification

I'd like to clarify something I wrote in a previous post...about digital crafting.

I discussed crafting, using images we find online, for our personal craft projects. BUT, I do not endorse lifting images that will ever be posted online, resold, or used commercially. While we may cut a pretty picture out of a magazine, and use the image in a collage, we should never claim that image as our own. The same is true for images we find online.

If you do want to do digital crafting for resale or distribution, visit one of the many websites that offer free images, or if you are looking for something special, you can purchase affordable images at sites such as istock.com.

Remember, the moment that photograph is captured, it is the copyrighted property of its creator. Just because something is posted online, does not mean it is yours for the taking. And just because you don't see a copyright symbol, does not mean it isn't protected.
