This is the season of the summer family vacation. Although, some of my teacher friends are already talking about how it is almost time for them to head back to work! Yikes!
When my kids were young we lived in a small mountain community in Southern California. During the summer we would take frequent nature walks. We’d take this time to collect interesting treasures of nature; such as pinecones, oddly shaped twigs, rocks or other finds.
And when the season changed, and the snow began to fall, those nature finds were used in some winter afternoon craft project. We’d enjoy creating, warm and snug by the fire, reminded by those treasures that sunny days were in the future.
