Michael's Open in Havasu

On the day Michael's opened we stopped by the store. I just wanted to look around, I wasn't planning to buy anything, as I knew it would be crowded.

Crowded didn't describe it - there were people crammed everywhere, you couldn't even browse for all the people in the aisles. I was surprised at how many people stood in that long long line to buy something.

I haven't been back, been very busy....but I am looking forward to checking them out again (and to get some good craft ideas) - when it is not as hectic.

Michaels will open in 10 days...

We drove by the new Michael's in our town, and there is finally a sign on the door! Yippy, it will be open in about 10 days.....April 26. There was even "stuff" inside.

Looking forward to some great craft inspiration!

Waiting for Michaels to Open

Michaels is scheduled to open in our town...the building is all ready, waiting for them to move in. Next door Pet Smart has been open for months...but the Michaels store is empty. Funny thing, whenever we go over there the lights are all on, but no one in sight.

Clothing pins, clothes pins and clothes pin crafts

The other day I posted a picture of a clothes pin doll I found, that my great-aunt had made. I came across another today, that I forgot about. This one was made by the same person, and belongs to my mother. Mom is known for her penchant for doing laundry, which explains the theme of this clothes pin doll.

Those old fashioned, non-clip wood clothing pins or clothes pins aren't really used for hanging laundry these days, but they do make make a terrific craft supply!

Of all the clothes pin crafts out there, the clothes pin doll is my favorite, because there is so much one can do with her (or him)...we are only limited by our imagination.

Clothespin Doll

I've been sorting through boxes, and organizing our den. I came across this clothespin doll. I believe my great aunt Helen may have been the crafter, and the doll may have been given to me the year I was engaged.

This doll is made from an old fashioned clothespin. The round end of the pin is the doll's head, and pipe cleaners are fashioned to make the doll's movable arms.

I love the old fashioned look of the doll's dress - a fancy hat and lacy wedding dress. She has pearl earrings, and is holding a bouquet of flowers.

Sweetheart Box

Valentine’s Day is coming up, a perfect time to make a sweetheart box for someone special. I doubt the man in your life would appreciate it – and I don’t see a guy creating it for his girlfriend – yet it would be a fun gift for a daughter, mom, sister or girlfriend this Valentine’s Day.

Start this craft with a recycled box. This was an old See’s candy box. Then, let the embellishments begin! Inside stuff treats, like candles or candy. For more images, visit my eHow article, link below.

Where did the banner go??

I just noticed my banner for the Craft Classic blog has disappeared. The image link is broken.

Looks like I need to reload the image...but first I need to find it.

Don't you hate when that happens??
